I dare call it a school...
The SHED is a private education space for unique young creatives. I dare call it a school or academy because it is not purely academic at its core and is more likened to the "unschooling" movement. Creative arts are at the core of the curriculum combined with real-world exploration and experiences. The students will learn through the production process and by creating content and products. They will work with working artists. They will be able to train and work in their field(s). Schedules will be flexible.
Authentic Arts Education
There is no authentic arts school in the Atlanta area that is dedicated to developing young creative and performing artists. The arts have become more of a "sidebar", even in the spaces where arts were thought to be a priority. The so-called dedicated arts schools are run like regular schools and led by those who have little industry knowledge and/or experience.Atlanta, Georgia is a major entertainment hub in the United States. Georgia is the state that produces the most feature films and has many professional film studios. There is no reason why there shouldn’t be a dedicated learning space for young creatives who want careers in the arts. We are ready to take arts education to the next level with The Shed Conservatory of Creative Arts and Entrepreneurship.
